Dealing With Growth

The past few months have been crazy. I feel like I always say that, but every time its true. We are truly a growing business and we are grateful. Every growth spurt brings new challenges and hurtles to jump over. In the past month we are been experiencing major growth and frequency in our orders. It is so exciting to get these orders in. We get this energizing feeling like, “people want us!!!” But then reality sets in, can we fulfill efficiently? This is truly the small business story: As growth hits, your needs to fulfill grow. More money is needed to buy more ingredients and packaging, to pay employees, etc etc. The most important thing though, is getting those orders OUT and learning how to manage them even better next time. It doesnt matter if we have to work all weekend or stay late at night. After these periods go by we learn to manage the growth and our hours become regular once again. We recap and learn new things like how our cash flow statement will help us plan for these spurts. Yes, there are tired moments, but soon after we rub our eyes and look around. This is our dream coming true and we will work as hard as we can to make it happen. We are constantly saying “These are GREATproblems to have!” And that is so true. We couldnt be more excited and grateful that this business has taken off. We have become more efficient, grown our online business and our product line. We have new employees and have expanded into another corner of our kitchen for online sales fulfillment.
When I step back all I can think about is our supporters. Remember our campaign to get our new packaging?? Without that campaign we wouldnt be where we are now. There are people out there purchasing our goods and supporting our company and that is what has made this company grow. So once again, I thank you with all of my heart.
This was a little update from the kitchen (I am literally sitting down here), what else do you want to hear from us?? Look out for another online sale in the next week! Hear about it first by signing up for our newsletter HERE. Also if you havent seen my recipe video on how to make veggie rice and nori rolls with it, see it HERE . More recipe videos to come!
Thank you, everyone!
Samantha
